Our Service Unit (3) is part of the Frederick County Association (37). We have over 450 girls in 46 Troops from the Middletown Valley area through the support of our great volunteer leaders. We are part of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital (GSCNC) which has over 79,000 members in the Greater Washington, DC area. The Girl Scout (US) and Girl Guide (world-wide) programs are designed to give girls the opportunity to explore their world, build leadership skills and develope character through participating in the program.

First Leaders Meeting will be on Tuesday 9/8/09 starting at 7:30 (we pushed the start time back due to the Open House at the Middle School).
Please be sure to bring your Nut Parent with you. Training will be done first thing so that those parents may leave.

The team and I have been working hard for our Service Unit to be accepted to a Fall Product Pilot. We just received the news that we were accepted. This is good news. It is my understanding that nuts, candy, calanders and QSP will all be included in one brochure. For those that remember when we sold nuts, the profit is the same about .75-$1.00 profit for each can sold. This will be done in the fall (end of September to mid October). I am informing you of this because you will probably need to have a fall product person registered by September. Just trying to get a jump on this. Tricia Pieklo will be attending training mid August and will inform us further.
Participating in the Fall Product Sale is a great way to help fund troops in the begining of our Girl Scout year. By combining nuts, calanders, and QSP, I think all will be satisfied. Any questions, feel free to contact me and if I don't have the answer, I will certainly try to get it for you.
